Castle

I have finally discovered the name of the castle where we'll spend the last of the year. It is Castello di San Gaudenzio, near Pavia, about 100 miles from where we live:





We hope to have a good time there ... we plan to start the last day of the year just after noon.

My gift

This year I have received the strangest gift in my life (but really really appreciated!).
It is a trip over Florence ... but with a balloon!

Last of the Year

Have you decided what to do the last of the year?
Giuly and I have just decided, we'll spend a couple of days in a castle near Pavia.
I know that this castle has also a web site and obviously a name, but Giuly has decided to keep them secret until the last day...

So, c'mon, what have you decided to do for the last of the year?

A shopping day...

Yesterday was a shopping day for Giuly and me.
We started from Viadana at 11AM and we have first visited Verona (PDF citybook) and then Mantova (Mantua in English).
(Do you know Romeo and Juliet? They was in Verona...)



From Viadana to Mantova there are about 40Km (about 25 Miles), the same distance there is between Mantova and Verona.
In Christmas time every city is beautiful, but recently Mantova has been nominated best city to live in all Italy (based on quality of life). Some years ago the same was for Parma. I am living between Parma and Mantova, so this is a good thing for me too.

A very busy day...

Yes I know, "he" is very busy developing the OpenGLPlugin and the SQL Server...
but please be patient, Christmas time is really close and then you can take your deserved vacancy :-)

OpenGL Plugin

I am developing a new OpenGL plugin for REALbasic and things are proceeding very well.



So far I have ported over 500 OpenGL routines, now I need only to adjust some glu functions.
The first beta (or alpha) version of this plugin will be available only for OSX (MachO) and during its development I have found a couple of bugs in RB related to MachO only builds.

Anyway, it seems really a powerful plugin and I hope to release a public beta in the next days...

London

Yesterday morning I carried my sister to a local airport ... she is in London now for a small vacancy.



I used to visit London every one/two years because I really like it and during Christmas time is even more beautiful.
There are so many things to visit in London that every time I can spend some days there, it seems to be the first time.

Saturday night

Saturday night, my girlfriend Giuly sang in a local pub.



Song for her is more than an hobby but a lot less than a job. It is a passion that accompany her since she was a child.
I really think she has an incredible voice, very rare for a white girl (not because she is my girlfriend :-))

Following my "An easy way to help me" message on the side bar, a very kindly person inside REAL Software sends me some corrections for my English mistakes.

Nokia

Like any other Italian I own a cellular phone.
I have a Nokia 6670 with a 512MB RS-MMC (Reduced Size Multimedia Memory Card), with a GSP bluetooth device and TomTom 5 Mobile installed (with maps from all over the Europe).

Since I got it, I have really no more problems finding every place I need in Italy, I can really find out even the smallest restaurant and even the most hidden pizzeria :-)

I used it some months ago in my New York trip, and it was really funny.
Nokia is, in my opinion, the company that looks more like Apple in the mobile world, but one thing isn't as good as Apple, the Operating System.

Like any other device I have, I am trying to develop something for my phone and I can confirm that Symbian is the worst operating system ever developed, not for end users, but from a developer's point of view.

I really don't understand how all the clever people behind Symbian was able to create such an horrible Operating System.
The more I know about symbian development the more I am shocked...

Please Apple, as a Christmas gift, give us an iPhone with OSX mobile...
