SQLiteManager 2.0b5

SQLiteManager 2.0b5 is out, this version should be the latest beta (it is the golden master release so it is very stable).

If you want to give it a try:
OSX version
Windows version

Please note that I am finishing the new manual, so if there is something not clear to you, don't hesitate to write me an email.

Bad and slack...

This is a bad and slack period for me ... SQLiteManager is finished but I need to finish its manual before releasing it... the PEF version of SQLite3ProfessionalPlugin has a random crash bug that is driving me crazy (in the meantime please use the MacOS X only build version) ... and Giuly ... well I really don't know about my love.

The only good news is that summer is arriving here, so I try to be outdoor as much as possible.
The past weekend I went near the river Po (just behind my home) with my friend Dimo and our bikes.
Everytime is a new adventure:

I am waiting for a much better period.

SQLiteManager

A private beta version of SQLiteManager 2.0 is out. As I already written in this blog it has tons of new features and it is a complete rewrite over version 1.0. One of the new things I added to this version is an automatic crash report:

It works in both OSX and Windows and it looks like the Apple's Crash Report.
I am using the excellent StackCleaner class in order to get a polished stack trace... I am very satisfied with the result.

PayPal Store

My new PayPal store is ready, it will be online in the first days of this week. This article inspired me and after several weeks of php development it is now finally finished.

I am now able to have complete control over the purchase process (using PayPal IPN) and collect a lot of useful information from it. I have also tried to reply to the question "Is it worth the time and effort involved? " well, yes, absolutely.

For example, this is a comparison between the three major merchants (that SQLabs in different time of its history have used) for a $25 product that sells 40 copies in a month: ($1000/month, $12000/year)

FeePer-sale incomePer-sale feeMontly feeMontly profit
Kagi2.5% + $1$23.375$1.625$65$935
eSellerate10%$22.5$2.5$100$900
PayPal2.9% + $0.30$23.975$1.025$41$959

Even more interesting, the same comparison for a $50 product that sells 40 copies in a month: ($2000/month, $24000/year)

FeePer-sale incomePer-sale feeMontly feeMontly profit
Kagi2.5% + $2$46.75$3.25$130$1870
eSellerate15%$42.5$7.5$300$1700
PayPal2.9% + $0.30$48.25$1.75$70$1930

I am not an US resident, so for example I cannot use more professional solutions like authorize.net or something similar, but I really think that PayPal is now the best option for any shareware developer.

When I was a child...

This is one of the most appreciated gift I have ever received... A family's friend was so clever to took this movie about 30 years ago, when I was 2 years old (with one of the first manual 8mm cam).

Get Quicktime

A lot of things happened in my life but I never forgot who I am and what kind of person I want to be.
I am sure to be the same child with the red t-shirt that runs everywhere...
