Austin and no marathon

I'll be in Austin from the 20th to the 25th (I'll return to Italy on the 26th) so I'll miss my first marathon (it was planned for the 25th). Today I'll run 10 or 15Km but no more ... and I haven't run for this entire week.

I go to Austin for work, but my plan is to try to run even in Texas if I'll have the time.
Do you know some good places where I can run?

  • The Veloway isn't bad if you want to do paved running. But if you don't mind non-paved surfaces, Austin has a ton of great hiking trails you could jog on.

  • Thanks a lot Aaron, it seems a really good place to run... I'll purchase a new pair of Nike Running when I'll be there ... so you should also give me an advice about a good shopping mall ;-)

    I plan to do a lot of shopping, until now I found an Abercrombie store in the Barton Creek Mall. It seems quite good :-)

  • Yeah, and the Barton Creek Mall is very close to the office, so it's not a trek to get there.

  • The Veloway is not for running. Only inline skating and biking as far as I remember.

    Townlake is always nice but can be crowded, but with very nice scenery.

  • Ad Austin vai al Four Season prima del tramonto, ti fai un cocktail e vedi il volo dei pipistrelli.
    Poi a cena vai da Eddie v's, quello in downtown, e non sbagli.
    La sera passatela in 4th street oppure 6Th street ogni posto e' buono. Segui l'onda.
    Fatti un giro al Capitol ed al museo del Texas. Comprati una t-shirt di Dave Crockett con scritto: Voi andate al diavolo io vado in Texas....
