SQLitePluginPro is no longer available here. It is now owned by REAL Software.
If you need a way to upgrade your SQLitePluginPro solution to SQlite 3 or to Universal Binary, please check this post.
SQLitePluginPro is a REALbasic plugin that gives your REALbasic projects access to a powerful, fast, and reliable, single-user database engine. SQLite, the database engine at the core of SQLitePluginPro, is a very popular database engine that is in use in numerous computing projects around the world. SQLite is now built into the PHP scripting language, and it also a core component of Apple's Mac OS X 10.4.
With SQLitePluginPro, you can use all of REALbasic's built-in database controls and classes to create SQLite database applications. In fact, SQLitePluginPro is a drop-in replacement for the single-user REAL database that comes with REALbasic. If you have started a project with the REAL database and you are now struggling to get the performance you need, then you should give SQLitePluginPro a try. Converting your project to use a SQLite database will require virtually no change to your source code, and you should see an immediate boost in speed.
Not only can you create new SQLite databases with SQLitePluginPro, you can also open and manipulate any existing SQLite database as well. You can also create in-memory databases and work with them exactly as if they were file-based databases. SQLite databases are fully cross-platform. Any database created on a Mac can be opened and manipulated on Windows, Linux, Solaris, Irix, and many other OSes.
SQLitePluginPro databases fully support all of REALbasic's database classes and controls, including the DataControl, the DatabaseQuery control, and the Database, DatabaseRecord, and RecordSet classes. REALbasic bindings are, of course, also fully supported.
SQLitePluginPro supports versions of REALbasic from 3.5 through 5.x on all platforms on which REALbasic runs (Mac OS Classic, Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux).
